Wicked Weeders 21st May

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a very successful planting on Saturday over 150 joined in on the planting.🌳

It does look like its going to be a wet day tomorrow, hopefully easing a bit in the afternoon 🌨

We don’t usually head out in the rain but on a Tuesday after planting, I am super keen to get out and check the plants. The plants will be loving the rain. So Wicked Weeders will return to the planting site to check on all the plants. We just need to make sure that they have not been planted too deep or too shallow and that the soil is firmly pushed in around the plants. A few plants missed out on stakes. I will bring along a few extras and we will finish off putting the stakes out. A few of the larger plants may require getting tied for support.

Be prepared for rain🌨don’t forget gloves and any helpful tools.

I will bring along stakes a few spades and afternoon tea..

The planting site is along Wairakei Drive, the road will likely be closed but they should be expecting us and allowing us through, southern access only.

Next week

28th May we will head to Spa Park and help KGT find and release the 2023 plants🌳 If it is fine, we may do some additional cutting and pasting of some nearby broom.
