Wicked Weeders Tuesday 19th September

Hi all

Another busy week to wrap up the planting season.

It looks like it’s going to be another good Tuesday for Wicked Weeders 😁 For this one, we are going to head back to the Matariki planting site and finish spreading the mulch around the plants and the site so it looks nice and tidy and keeps the moisture in around the plants.

Park up opposite the kohanga reo next to the parent’s playgroup

I will bring some buckets, wheelbarrows, rakes, a couple of shovels, and afternoon tea.

1230pm-3 pm

And for the rest of the week…

Thursday 21st: 930am first truckload of plants to be delivered out to Whakaipo Bay, I will just unload them and leave them under the tree. The plants will be in the top paddock behind a locked gate, so they will be safe. We will place them out the next day, Friday 22nd.

Friday 22nd: Our big day setting up for Whakaipō Bay from 10am

Bring your gloves and sturdy footwear - very uneven ground.

Same area as last year, Whakaipo Bay off Mapara Rd down towards the lake, head right past the campers and then park up at the W2K shelter. The planting area is just behind the tall poplar trees

Saturday, 23rd: Whakaipō Bay community planting; all welcome!

Tuesday 26th: Doing a check of the plants at Whakaipō Bay from 10am
