Wicked Weeders 11th July 2023

Hi all,

It looks like it’s going to be a bit drier for the rest of the week, so we will be able to get out and deal with some more weeds 😁

We will continue tidying up the Matariki planting sites. This week, on Tuesday, we will work on the 2022 site alongside the river, towards the control gates. We will access the site either from Rickett St, walk down the bank to the lower plantings, or I'll check if I can open the gate near the corner of Waikato and Nukuhau St. If I can, you can carefully follow the gravel road to the planting site.

You should see the Greening Taupō car, and I will put some signs out.

We will clear the native plants of any weeds and grass. There may be some woody weeds to cut and paste and blackberry to cut back.

I will bring a selection of tools along with cut and Paste, the weed eater, lawn mower, stakes, and afternoon tea. Don’t forget your gloves; the ground is uneven, so it's best to wear some good footwear.

1230pm-3 pm

Just give me a bell if unsure where to go at 027 6288008 or drop me an email for any comments

The plan for the following week is
