Wicked Weeders 4th July 2023

I hope everyone is well and staying warm.

For the month of July, we are going to have the Tuesday Wicked Weeders at the previous Matariki planting sites and finishing up on the last Tuesday of the month, preparing for the 2023 Matariki planting day.

Tomorrow the weather looks cold, but all good to get out. We will start with the 2020 Matariki planting site. This site is accessible at the water treatment end. I should have the gate open, drive through, and head along to the planting site, you should see the Greening Taupō car, and I will put some signs out.

We will clear the native plants of any weeds and grass. There may be some woody weeds to cut and paste and blackberry to cut back.

I will bring a selection of tools along with cut and Paste, the weed eater, stakes, and morning tea. Don’t forget your gloves, the ground is uneven, so it's best to wear some good footwear.
