Wicked Weeders 1st August

Hi all,

What an amazing week we have had! The Matariki planting on Wednesday was a great success, and so was the community planting on Sunday at Wairakei village. Thank you to all that helped in the preparation before hand; all your hard work makes the event run so much more smoothly.😁

Tomorrow we will be heading back to the Matariki Site, off Rickett Street. We will be checking the plants to make sure that they have been correctly planted, we did have a couple of groups checking, so hopefully this should not be too bad. We will finish staking the plants, more for helping to relocate, we will tie any that require it. Council will be dropping off a few plants to plant in the last of the holes, so these will need to be planted. And mulching if time allows.

Bring your gloves, and a spade if you want. I will bring stakes, ties, a wheelbarrow, buckets, and afternoon tea for all afterwards. Wrap up warm, it looks like it could be a bit gloomy tomorrow with a chance of an afternoon shower if it’s not flash, please stay home. I will head along to check the plants but we can always come back next week to finish off the tasks

Hopefully, we'll see you all at 1230 tomorrow Rickett St

Cheers
