Wicked Weeders 18th April

I hope you all had a good Easter break. It was nice to have some nice autumn days amongst it.

I'm not too sure what tomorrow morning is going to be like, but it would be good to keep chipping away at the weeds and releasing more plants.

So the plan for tomorrow is to head to the Matariki planting site, along the Waikato River. We will start at the top end this time and work our way along and down. I got Peter Marshall to do some spraying; this has made a huge difference but there are still many plants that are smothered or need staking. So it would be great to walk through and finish this off.

I will bring a selection of tools along with the weed eater, stakes, and morning tea. Don’t forget your gloves, the ground is uneven, so it's best to wear some good footwear; there could be a passing shower, so don’t forget a jacket.

The plan for the following week is :

There will be no Weeders on Tuesday, April 25th, as that is ANZAC day.

Shawn has himself all sorted for the planting site on the 29th of April; just needs 2000 holes in the ground and a few plants to put in them. We will just let you all know when we need help moving the plants on-site. Likely on the morning of the 28th

2nd of May: We will be onto afternoon weeders from 1230-245pm

We will see how the planting finished off on Wairakei Drive and if the plants need checking, otherwise we need to head to the Centennial Drive planting site to get it all ship shape before the community planting on the 13th of May.
