Wicked Weeders 25th February

Hi all, last week was a blast working alongside KGT and a couple of awesome classes from Marotiri School and Taupō Primary for the Show the Plants Some Love Event! 🎉 We headed back to our 2024 Greening Taupō Day site at the golf course to give last year’s plantings a good mulching—great teamwork all around! And of course, no hard work goes unrewarded… everyone was treated to some well-earned ice cream afterwards! 🍦😋 And thanks to Grant for the support and organising the mulch and the Golf Club Cafe staff for the morning tea of sausage rolls and fresh muffins.

A huge thanks to all our amazing weeders who came along to support the event. You’re the best! 💚🌱"

This Tuesday’s Plan!

This Tuesday, we’re heading to the Matariki planting site alongside Rickett St. We’ll park towards the end near the playgroup.

We will do some grubbing, cutting back blackberry, mulching any plants that need it, staking, and generally giving the site a good check-up to make sure everything is thriving.💚

I’ll be bringing a selection of tools—grubbers, loppers, and buckets—as well as morning tea! ☕🌱 Dont forget gloves, good footwear and a hat - it should be nice and fine, and remember we have been seeing a few wasps out and about.🐝

Time 9.30-11 am

I have a presentation at Council between 10:30–11:00 am 😁 Heidi will be on hand to help keep things running smoothly, make sure morning tea is sorted, and help with packing up.

Looking forward to another great session—see you there!

Coming up:

Tuesday 4th March - Its parks week so we will be going to Spa Park to do some releasing.
