🌳Greening Taupō Day-2024
Are you coming along to Greening Taupō Day?
The biggest annual environmental festival in Taupō is happening again this year on Friday June 7th 9:30am - 1pm.
Greening Taupō Day has become so much more than an Arbor Day planting event, and is now Taupō's festival of environmental education, envied by other regions. This year we are beginning a new native corridor to bring birds into urban Taupō from areas such as Opepe and Mt Tauhara. 3000 native plants will go in the ground! We encourage attendees to plant and mulch one tree and then enjoy the free activities!
About 50 businesses and organisations attend with stands and free activities. There will be educational stands by organisations such as Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, NZ Forest Managers, Save the Kiwi, Moths and Butterflies Trust of NZ, DOC, Predator Free Taupō, Mynoke, Waikato Regional Council and many more. There is music and free sausages and soup for attendees.
