Wicked Weeders 11th February
Hi everyone,
Tomorrow for Wicked Weeders, we’ll be heading to the small planting (known as the bowl planting). This is in the gully behind the large Crown Road planting site.🌳
We will release the plants in the bowl, cut and paste some broom and cut back some of the blackberry. I would like to clear the natives of any weeds and then I plan to get Peter in to do a spray so that later in the year Heidi can bring some Tawa St kindergarten kids over to add some more plants. We may have a bit of time to wander through more of the gully and release more natives.
I’ll bring along a weed eater and some hand-weeding tools, as well as a well-deserved morning tea 🍰 It looks like it could be a fine sunny morning so bring your sunhat and don’t forget your gloves.
We’ll kick off at 9:30 a.m. please park in the area between the primary school / Kura and the bike track; you will see the walking track that cuts through the gully, and we will be there.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
