✨Mānawatia a Matariki✨

We hope you all had a lovely Matariki weekend ✨

Coming up this week, Matariki ki te Maunga. We are supporting the Tauhara Collective to put on two Matariki Planting Events to kick off an exciting new project to restore the native korowai (cloak) of Mt Tauhara

Wednesday, July 3, many schools/ECEs have signed up to come along.  If you are bringing a school/ECE group and haven't let us know, please email Rachel, and she will send you more information. Business groups and the community are welcome to join us on this day too. 🌱

On Saturday, July 6, there will be another Matariki community planting event on Mt Tauhara and we will be planting the remainder of the 7,000 trees. 🌱

Remember to wear appropriate clothing (warm layers and waterproof jacket) as we will be planting in rain or shine. Bring your gardening gloves and you might need your gumboots too!

You could also bring a spade if you have one, holes will be dug, having a spade handy may help in planting the trees well

There will be strips of paper there for you to write your wishes/goals to Hiwa-i-te-Rangi (the wishing star) and plant them with your first tree.✨

If you have any questions about either of these events, please email or give us a call.

See you all there
